Hi! I'm so excited, I finally got my results :)
*74.4% European
*19.3% Sub-Saharan African
*3.7% Native American
*1% Middle Eastern-North African
I'm from Brazil and I have many questions to make! My results came as expected: mostly European, with significant African imput and minor Native American.
1) My (known) European ancestries are Italian (great-grandmother) and the rest is Portuguese.
However, I scored 12.1% Northern European, of these 3.6% British and Irish. I wonder where did this come from, since I dont have any recent Northern European ancestor. I know Italians and Portuguese score Northern European admixture, but at what level?
2) My African ancestry is mostly West African. This comes from slave trade so, of course, I dont know from which part of Africa my ancestors came from. Most slaves in Brazil came from Congo-Angola and the Nigeria-Benin regions. Is it possible to know where my ancestors came from?
3) 1% Middle-Eastern, of this 0.8% North African. But at Global Similarity, I cluster among Mozabites...what am I doing there?
4) I'm 2.4% Neanderthal :p I ranked on top 20....

Congrats.
You are pretty much a quadroon.

Awesome :)
Haplogroups?
Plotting with Mozabites just means your mixture is more similar to Mozabites than anything else that had on the map. It makes sense.

MtDNA: H1
Y chromosome: E1a1
I even opened another thread to discuss my E1a1 Haplogroup, because I couldnt find where exactly it comes from, since 23andme only talks about the broad African Haplogroup E, but does not give informations about E1a1

E1a1 is West African I believe. H1, European. Interesting, it's usually the other way around :)

Nice results. About african results not sure, but you can try gedmatch to see what 4 populations they reference you, choose MLD 23b as its supposed to have the most reference groups I heard. Gedmatch is free you just have to upload your raw data to it.

Looks like your YDNA peaks in Cameroon, so West Africa north of the equator, and your mtDNA is Iberian.

I googled it and I found that its mostly found in Mali...but there are very few informations about it, very disappointing.
My mtDNA can only be Italian, because my maternal line goes straight to an Italian woman

Could you give me more info about gedmatch?

Just saying what's most likely. Of course it could be Italian.

there is not much too it.

just register, and then after you do that, look for file upload and go to 23andme. You will have to wait a but but thats fine it will upload. It gives you directions also how to do it. After it is uploaded you can go to Analyze data, pick admixture / heritage I believe it is called. Than you pick admixture proportions with link to oracle. Some Calculators might have a text box for ethnicity, so just make sure you type it in and you are good to go. They are other stuff on there you can explore. Some of the stuff 23andme already covers.
However they are other calculators also that you can try it if you want to see more interpretations of your raw data
You can compare kits and find other people who share chromosomal segments and also see how much "archaic" DNA you have

It wasn't necessary to make a second thread about your results. :thumb001:

You don't cluster with Mozabites actually, it's just your level of African (VS Eurasian) ancestry is similar to Mozabites. Your African ancestry mostly comes from West Africa and not from North Africa or Iberia. Your Y-dna too by the way (most likely), it's in line with your autosomal results.
You're also around 3.7% Native American, which is another reason you don't actually cluster with Mozabites.
Congrats anyway! It's not very surprising for a Brazilian in my opinion. But what do you think about it? Do you look the part?

Yeah, I was expecting that result. I was just uncertain about the Native American, if I really had that ancestry or not

Almost all colonials get both SSA and Amerindian.
Do you embrace one ancestry more?
