Showcase how beautiful - or ugly if you will - your part of the world is.

I have some to start off:

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm30/brynhild64/NightskyatSilverdaleNSW.jpg

This is Silverdale, a place in the foot of the Blue Mountains in NSW.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm30/brynhild64/Wattamolla/Fromtheboardwalk.jpg

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm30/brynhild64/Wattamolla/WatamollaHeadland.jpg

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm30/brynhild64/Wattamolla/Thelagoon.jpg

These were all at Wattamolla Headland in the Royal National Park. It was a lousy day for swimming but fortunately I had the trusty camera.

More to follow...

bbbbbeeeeeaacchhhhhhh!! :faint2::sunny::cool2:

Seems like it's been AGES since I've seen a sunny beach.. I love winter.. But the sunny warm sands of the beach are an aspect of this place we miss...

BEAUTIFUL!!

I'll go out and snap more pics of the Port tommorow and post them here.. depending on how nice it is..

Taken just a half hour ago just down the street.. It was cold, and it wasn't too nice of a day for photography at all as it was really cloudy and some really light snow fall.. By Persephone, I can't wait until Summer.. You should see how nice it is on the beach, and the sun shines wonderfully, and the woods come alive.. It's miraculous the changes we experience.. And I am insanely jealous of the Aussies.. And that (bleep) down in Hawaii ..

You get me wrong here, Tristan :) Of course I am proud of the past, and at the same time I am ashamed of the present.

You see the past is one more reason to be ashamed of the present. Because Greece should know better than that :wink

The pictures that you post are from the so-called "historical center of Athens" -Acropolis and Plaka.

Of course it's the loveliest part of town for tourists and the few people who can afford to live in. The pictures I posted are from the rest of Athens, and the reality I have to live with every day (along with 5 million other Athenians who can't afford to live in the historical center)... :(

Let me start off simple. I will eventually find more photos. This is me walking my 2 little ladies last Summer. It is the street I live on in western Maryland. Town of about 500 and dwindling. Coal country, all mountains. We love it here. All white and everyone speaks English!! Moved out here 4 years ago from the DC area. Never looked back!!

I have found a couple of pictures of my hometown, Amersfoort (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amersfoort), Province of Utrecht.

http://www.borkent.net/images/Koppelpoort_bewerkt_verkleind.jpg

http://www.infonline.nl/images/Amersfoort-OL_vrouwetoren.jpg
The church that once belonged to the tower in the distance got blown up during an accident in the 18th century when a soldier guarding the ammunition dump inside the (then already former Catholic) church fell asleep while smoking a pipe :p What remains is the Onze Lieve Vrouwetoren. The church on the right burned down a couple of years ago but is now being rebuild.

I will post some more soon- when I can find some online. :) Also of the surroundings and my part of town. Amersfoort has a unique location: the polderland on one side, the Gelderse Vallei on the eastern side and the forests of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utrecht_Hill_Ridge) in the south-west, south and south-east.

Also note, that brown spot is where we plant our produce, it is much greener now lol. :D

It just depends on how good the coverage is for your area, rural Scotland is so bad that yuo can't even pick out a road, where as you can see individual people in Aberdeen.

I'll add some photo's of my new house soon :) Just as soon as I can be bothered that is.

Exactly--some areas are covered by high resolution imagery and others, not so much.

Out here where I live, the images are quite blury. I don't mind, actually. I don't need the world peeking in at my land.

That must be the reason.
The picture not even 600 meter away and below the mountain is perfect.
Possibly the 300 odd trees could make the picture hazy or difficult to focus on the house and pool and cottage.

Basically the region where I live is solid rural territory for miles all around, the nearest "city" is a good drive away for me.
