Brother of grandfather from mother's side and Granny's brother looks ukrainian. got any roots from there?

As far as I know I don't have ancestors from Ukraine. Brother of my grandfather is from Pudozh region - south-eastern part of nowadays republic Karelia and I see nothing specific ukrainian in him. For me he represents eastern european mediterranoid(-like_ form with eastern european admixture.
These types appeared there together with Russian colonisation during medieval times.

Brother of my grandmother is from western part of Vologda oblast (not far from Belozersk). And yeah, he doesn't look like natives. Some people thought that he is ukrainian, serb or even greek. Maybe some people from southern provinces were sent there during imperial times. I need more information about my ancestors from the side of my mother.
