Alpine-Brunn, Alpine-Med and then most of the remainder are Castizos or Harnizos.

Who looks harnizo ?. All were classified as "Spanish" in 1895 Argentine census.

Who looks harnizo ?. All were classified as "Spanish" in 1895 Argentine census.

More likely that's how they classified THEMSELVES:) Most don't look Spanish at all. This woman is Mestiza:

Probably before mass immigration in 19th century Argentina had same ethnic composition as Paraguay.

i think this people is interesting because as you say...argentina changed a lot after 1869...

Considering that he is from Argentina,it's unlikely that he is a quadroon or a octoroon!

there used to be blacks here...and this people is colonial..they could have black admixture..

doesent he look black admixed to you?

I am sorry for my ignorance!Were there blacks in Argentina?Seriously,I didn't know!I suppose that they were in there in small numbers,weren't they?

Ridicolous figures for the black immigration in Argentina, and they usually (always better said) were slaves, not people like that man.

i think they were not rare before 1850...the thing is that even if the country was pure black...argentine born population was 1.5 millon in 1869..and then we recieved around 7 millon europeans after 1869...(of wich around 4.5 millon stayed...)...black blood was diluted to the 3- 4% on average we see today
