What is known about this island--

The original population was said to come from Iberia, but there is no way of proving this now; however, it is known they did not come from Sicily.
Phoenicians and Carthaginians took control of the island and settled there.
Romans occupied the island, but Greeks did not.
Arabs and Normans both conquered the island.
Until the 1700s, Maltese was spoken there.

It is located between Sicily and Tunisia. How might they score genetically?

All Sicilians are genetically close to Maltese..

Anyway I have added someone on 23andme whose father comes from here, so we will see how she scores.
