Prague - A higher degree of alert was declared for Czech security forces after the Wednesday attack in France, Interior Minister Milan Chovanec (Social Democrats, CSSD) said today, adding that if the perpetrators' accomplices left France, there would be a risk.
"Our secret services are cooperating with the secret services of the neighbouring countries," Chovanec said. There might be a risk if the "collaborators" of the assassins wanted to leave France, he added. "We will certainly watch who flies to the Czech Republic from these regions," Chovanec said.
"We do not have the information on any risk threatening the Czech Republic," he added. There is no information either that any assassins' cell similar to that in France operates in the Czech Republic, Chovanec said. However, it is difficult to prevent this type of attacks, he added.
Chovanec already said on Wednesday caution was needed. He said the Muslim community in the Czech Republic has been very calm so far, without any manifestation of radicalisation.
