There has been lots of riots and protests from both anarchists and workers in Athens, Greece specially the past few years. One interesting thing is that there is one dog that is spotted at these riots from 2008 till today:

It looks like the guy holding the red flag is the owner (compare to April 21st pic).

The dog looks to be a Labrador Retriever. Is this Canadian, the ring leader of this mob?
Why should the Canadians have an interest in the fall of Greece?
This is all very strange!

The dog doesn't look like a Labrador Retriever at all? This is a lab:

Hmm... Pretty irresponsible taking a dog to scenes of violence. I suppose there's bottles and bricks flying about? Tear gas and water cannons even? Poor thing might get hurt, he doesn't know what's going on.

Well, I care usually more for people than animals and many people which demostrate for their rights and future dont want to get a brick or bottle at their head neither, nor the police men which had to "do their job" or get troubles.

Additionally, the police often uses dogs too, at least here in my area, at such occasions.

That dog would die or become "an animal orphan" without its master anyway, a loyal animal dies with its master - just in case he can defend him too.

In the past we used dogs and horses in fights too, so if the master decides to risk his, why not that of his dog?

Of course, in such a situation not necessarily, agreed, but especially if it would become more dangerous, dogs are helpers and weapons in a critical case at times. :thumb001:

After all, thats why we bred them and they wouldnt exist otherwise, though some say various human groups might have first ate them rather then use them as a tool...

Alternatively the dog wanted to fight, because he knew that he won't get his favourite food anymore if his master gets less from the welfare :D

With all the broken glasses in the streets, he probably arrives at home with blooded paws

Kanellos is the spawn of Cerberus and Lassie. He comes to help without a word, and all Hell follows with him.
Fo Dog stands alone. None can tame him. None can leash him. None can call him. None can heel him. None can stop him.
When Chuck Norris is pinned down by enemy fire and needs backup, he whistles for Fo Dog.
Fo Dog knows the secret to inner peace and universal wisdom, but mankind was not ready - so he buried it in the backyard with two sticks, a sock, and the TV remote , Fo Dog is a Pro

I remember some years ago I read about another protest dog that ditched all the tear gas and ended up dying of old age after having been taken care of by some squatters.

And when I was a teenager there was yet another famous dog in the area of Exarchia (the "anarchist" area) who was famous for his anti-police menace :p

And apparently, many random stray hounds have taken part in demonstrations. :p
