Hello, Im known either as Sioned/Tamara (my real name)/Milon on a couple of ethnic European preservationists sites, Dutch sites and Anthropology sites...
I was born in Antwerp, but I live in Holland. My politics is right-wing conservative. Im interested in politics, history, anthropology, linguistics. I joined this forum mostly of Anthropology interests. Some might know me or not from sites like Stumbleinn, Eurofolk, Germanic-Realm, Anthroscape, ForumNostrum, and long ago Steve Hoog's Jewish-Worlds and even more longer ago forum.politics.be. I speak Dutch (native), and English, French, German. I oppose the EU wholehearthly.
I hav an ancestor from the 1800s from Bohemia, but I cant figure it out if my ancestor was Bohemiansudetengerman or Czech-Bohemian. Does anyone how I can find it out?
Looking forward to discuss.
With best regards,
Sioned

Well, as a Flemish, Flanders has both a Celtic and a Germanic legacy thus Im proud on both, and that is why i hav a celtic name here.
Sioned is a Welsh name, the Welsh form of Janet, which is my mothers second name, so I also use that in honour of her...

Am I the only one who read that as Stoned?
Welcome! :D

I suppose you could tell from the name. A Sudenten German would likely have had a German name while a Czech would have had a Slavic one. But I am no genealogist and am just guessing.

Not really, many Czechs today and back then in the 1800s hav German names, and many Sudetengermans hav Czech surnames...There existed many intermixing from what i know...I hav to ask my family about the exact surname.

Welcome to the Battlefield.
A note of caution: Sane people do not mess with the Balkans.
Unfortunately, I am not one of them!

Can remember a couple of Scottish Independence marches in Edinburgh, there were folk from Flanders.. Many flemish look very similar to Brits/Irish. You couldn't tell apart.

I know you from Forum Nostrum. The owner of this site is an Afrikaner, and his cousin is on staff as well, so you may like it here.

I had thought that it was related to Zionism (Sion being an alternative spelling, like in Italian)
