The South will rise again!Civil War was not all about slavery as many think and I say that as a Dixie girl!

States' rights, slavery was merely a by-product of the struggle between Washington D.C. and the states' capitals. The Confederacy lost, and the modern U.S.A. was born when the struggle of the states to exert their rights was, once and for all, quashed.

I love the Union, but it was never meant to be a Union wherein the federal government took the center stage. Nor were the states, for that matter, but it was meant to be balanced between local, state, and federal government. Nowadays, Washington D.C. is the home of dozens of federally-empowered tyrants in Congress (minus Ron Paul), a possibly left-leaning Supreme Court, and a White House inhabited by an illegal foreigner.
