H itself, probably originally coming from the Near East, is no doubt common in Europe. It or it's subclades are indeed fairly dominant in Western Europe, with very existant but lessening amounts the more eastward you get.

H3 supposedly sprung up in Iberia. I havn't found much literature so far on this subclade. Where is it found the most frequently and who is it mostly associated with?

Sure, the Franco-Cantabrian culture it is associated with, is basically around the Basque-lands.

My mito-gaplogroupe is H3, from my grandma, polish catholic in Belarus (Minsk region).

but this line came to me from my bulgarian christian orthodox grandmother
direct maternal line plovdiv ...

h3 is only 0.9% in bulgaria
so it was a big shock ..... :)
