YEREVAN—A female soldier of the Armenian Armed Forces shot and killed an Azerbaijani sniper commander during border gunfire that left four Azerbaijani soldiers dead, reported Armenia’s Defense Ministry spokesperson Arzrun Hovhannisyan, according to the Armenpress news agency.
The Defense Ministry reported that three Azerbaijani servicemen were killed in the Karvachar region in the morning hours on Friday, while the commander of the Azerbaijani sniper unit was killed later in the southern border of Karabakh.
“The Azerbaijani side continues its brazen policy towards its own soldiers and their relatives. Today they lost 3 servicemen only during the daytime in the vicinity of Karvachar. A commander of a snipers’ group was shot dead from the well-aimed bullet of Armenian woman,” said Hovhannisyan.
“Let the Azerbaijani citizens know that the leadership of their country doesn’t only cause death of their sons, but also disrespects them,” added Hovhannisyan.
Earlier, two Armenian soldiers were killed during Azerbaijani attacks on several positions in the Berd area of Armenia’s northeastern Tavush province.
As of Friday afternoon, doctors at a Berd hospital were fighting for the life of another serviceman who was wounded in the attacks.

Azerbaijan unleashed war, but Karabakh Armenians defeated them, then Azerbaijan pleaded for a Truce in 1994:

Both Azeris and Turks endlessly whine about the Azeri defeat in the Karabakh War (1988-1994), and Azerbaijan regularly violates the cease fire status on the border zones. Azerbaijan has armed itself to the teeth, and it makes bellicose threats, even against Armenia as well as Artzakh (Karabakh). The situation is more grave than a cold war struggle.

Very True! During the Karabakh War (1988-1994), Armenians captured Turkish tanks, which bore the Turkish star and crescent emblem. Turkish tanks, captured by Armenians, have been photographed. Turkey and Azerbaijan have cemented an alliance, they see themselves as Turanic blood related cousins. Turkey is a primary military and political ally of Azerbaijan.

I'm not surprised. Both countries have pro-turkic ideologies. One day they will both suffer a huge defeat in the hands of several allied nations :)

An Azerbaijani Turkish nationalist has told me that Azerbaijan is not really pro-Turkish, since its ruling elite is composed of members of the Baku upper class which is mostly Russian-speaking and has a lot of mixed people (part-Armenians, Kurds, etc.). A Turk from Turkey would still need a visa in order to enter Azerbaijan.

Aliyev has much more ties with Russia than Turkey. Aliyev grew up in Moscow, studied there, has a lot of ties there, and speaks flawless Russian. One Moscow politician even said that Aliyev is 'one of us'.
