JOHANNESBURG, (Xinhua) -- Three more farmers have been murdered in South Africa over the past week, highlighting the seriousness of farm murders in South Africa, authorities said on Wednesday.
This has brought to 10 the number of farmers killed since the beginning of this year.
The latest murders involved Toon Swanepoel, 72, and his wife Rienie Swanepoel, 70, who were found murdered on their farm in Kwaggakraal near Bloemfontein, Free State Province. Another separate incident occurred in Theunissen, also in Free State, where Martie Bester, 68, was found murdered on his farm.
