Message from Wendy Dio

Today my heart is broken, Ronnie passed away at 7:45am 16th May. Many, many friends and family were able to say their private good-byes before he peacefully passed away. Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all. We so appreciate the love and support that you have all given us. Please give us a few days of privacy to deal with this terrible loss. Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever.

Never was a huge fan, but he certainly was legendary. And very influential. RIP.

:(:(:(

I was a huge fan. *sniff sniff* ... a legend is no longer with us. His memory is immortal, though. Here's one to you, Ronnie! See you in hell soon hopefully. x

Well, damn...

Little man, big voice, huge talent: always true to himself, his family, his friends, his fans and the Music.

A Horn held high to Ronald James Padavona; your voice will live so long as folk listen.

A swift journey to your ancestors' hall!

Saw Ronnie James in Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath and solo, I was always blown away by both his projection and clarity of tone.

I looked at the news items about Ronnie James passing...he took his last breath at 7:45 AM, the same time as my dad...stomach cancer got him.

Wow he went quickly ... in Nov 2009 he was diagnosed with early stages of stomach cancer.

And in March it was reported that his tumor had responded well to chemo and was shrinking ... it doesn't make any sense at all. Sounds too quick. My father also died of stomach cancer, but he was ill for a few years before passing away.

Black Sabbath is my favorite band, though I admit that I definitely liked Ozzy better than Dio as frontman.

Heaven and Hell was awesome though.
