I've noticed quite a few dark skinned, dark eyed and haired geordies too, such as Cheryl Tweedy, Rowan Atkinson, and a few others. It's strange given they're from the NE of England. I've never been to Newcastle upon Tyne though. In my schools in Kent and Dorset, I remember seeing a fair share of blond pupils. I know a group of Jutes from Denmark settled in the central part of the south coast. I thought that Newcastle would have had even more Viking settlements.

I remember quite a lot of English people of a similar complexion to the first guy, in Cheshire.

One of my primary school teachers, was pretty much like that. And I'm guessing Sutton is a northern name, native to the region.

There's quite a lot of regional variation, in the native Brits, from what I've seen.
