Could China be bringing Tibetan Buddhism in from the cold? There are new signs that while a crackdown on Tibetan nationalism continues, the atheist state may be softening its position towards the religion - and even the Dalai Lama.

Tibetan Buddhism has had a strong influence in China and particularly amongst the various Imperial courts from the Tang Dynasty (7th AD) onwards. Not surprisingly, as China modernizes and becomes wealthier, I am sure there will be an increasing number of pop Tibetan "wisemen" who will probably gain a huge following amongst wealthy Han Chinese.

At the time I thought my Elvis comment was hilarious, but I was thoroughly, thoroughly drunk. Wasn't trolling, just in a jokeful spirit. However, I cannot make any sense of my comment whatsoever...
