Good question. The answer is no, but reminders will be given when there are only 150, 100, 50, 25, 10, 5, 3, 2 and of course 1 thumb to go.

At the rate I thumb I reckon the winner will be decided by the end of the weekend, so pace yourself. No need to develop an arms race. The prize may be tantalizing, but let us remember: we are humans, not animals.

I will write a story about the life of a longbowman in the army of Edward the Black Prince, who is secretly Jewish by his father's side but cannot allow himself to reveal it for fear of being expelled from the King's Army.

The story shall be set in the second and third decade of the Hundred-Years War, and will feature Edward the Black Prince, King Edward III, John II of France, and the battle of Poitiers, where the longbowman will perform one noble deed, untold by later generations, but nonetheless of great consequence for the future of the war; thus disproving the stereotypes that all Jews know how to is leech and plot.

I am sure I can earn the thumb, with a philosemitic short story.
