23andme proves South Ossetians are a homogenous group and have not mixed with Kartvelians.

Seeing how far north he plots, I guess this shows that the Middle Eastern category on there is not that reliable.

South Ossetians are the "most Euro" of all Middle-Easterners, but fierce competition with some Turks and Tajiks for this title. Overlords of the Middle-East. Lots of Mameluke nobles came from South Ossetia (Dvaleti at the time).

Should they be considered Middle Eastern? In my view, no.

Geographically they didn't make it past the cut off point - Caucasus, so technically Middle-Eastern. However genetically it's debatable, but personally I'd say they still are Middle-Eastern. Actually Sikeliot, the South Ossetian breakdown is similar to the Sicilian, 15% North-Euro and the rest Near-Eastern-like.

Interesting. There must be something else pulling them north then. Sicilians plot at the very bottom at the intersection of the orange and purple squares.

Hmmm, maybe it's some "Ancestral North Eurasian" ancestry that pulls them north. Here's 4 Georgians for comparison: http://i.imgur.com/jwvFE0y.png
Still more north than I would expect them to be.

Get lost Gorski Jew. A Georgian-Ossetian hybrid is not accepted by Ossetians, he becomes Georgian.
