However vague and ill-defined both Northern European and Southern European are as phenotype labels. More than any other ethnic group/nationality, the French imo do look like a hybrid of both ends of Europe. Please only focus on the White councillors with French surnames. Somewhere intermediate between the UK and Spain but closer to the latter.

Since you know more about these things than me, am I right in saying that the French on genetic plots do get positioned half-way between Britain/Germany and Spain/North Italy?

It goes Britain --> France --> Spain --> North Italy in that order. Spain is halfway between France and North Italy, and France is halfway between Spain and the UK more or less.

They look intermediate between Britain and Iberia, but also between Germany and Italy, because of the additional Alpine and Norid/Dinarid influence.

They look more in between western and northern Europe which is typical in France i suppose.

From the puictures they're half way between Catalans and British, but in real life Parisians are more leaning toward Bris (I grow up there).

The native White ones, presumably?xD Anyway, why do you specifically say Catalans and not Spaniards in general?

There are more white in Paris than what people thinks, they're usually in the Atlantid-Alpine-Nordid spectrum, I said Catalans, because they overlap with Southern French, while not all Spaniards do, Hidalgo is from Andalusia and she can't pass in France. I think northern Iberia by phenotypes do overlap with southernwestern France, while the North is more British and Belgian. the Western France have an interesting look they're mostmy Atlantid.

Anne Hidalgo is on the exotic side for any region of mainland Spain, including Andalusia. But I know what you mean.

The ones with French surnames look, for the most part, NW and West Central European (Switzerland, Baden-Wurttemberg, etc). The ones with foreign surnames, in this sample, don't look quite distinct, expect for Spanish Anne Hidalgo who sticks out like a sore thumb out of Spain, and a few others who have more Mediterranid "proper" features. This one also looks Jewish:
