It is fucking unfair that Gone Girl would not become the year's best film. Boy, that was a nice storytellling, and Ben Afleck is a champion.

Ive just downloaded Birdman, and Emma Stone is one of my favorite actress, with all that personality she has, so I guess I will enjoy the movie. Imitation Games was surely a fair one, I suggested an Oscar for Best actor after leaving the theater. Grand Hotel is nice one, too. The shooting is bloody awesome. Excluding Gone Girl, no masterpieces this year unfortunately. It was the only movie this year to challenge The Best Offer.

Ida was absurdly boring. Planning to watch Foxcather, American Sniper and Boyhood. And if there is surprise on the categories of Best Movie and Best Adapted Screenplay.

You should watch those 3. Foxcatcher was boring at times, but the ending was cool. American Sniper was all about promoting Islamophobia and shit but the acting was good but the baby scene is ridiculous. And Boyhood was unique but the acting was meh.

If it wasnt for the buzz that American Sniper created I wont probably never watch it. US movies about wars is a no-no decision for me :P

Birdman was such a disappointment.

It goes to show how oscars don't relate to the best films of any year. In all the hype there are no good movies to watch. Average Joe would have made better nominations. WTF!

"Birdman" was bs, tell me one good thing about "Birdman".

The only movie I found to be worth my time last year was Interstellar, the others were just shit...

So mainly sci-fis. Lucy was a missed opportunity from my point of view. Could make way better story the main insight.

There's always criticism to make, that's fine. But what do you want to watch? Oscar nominated movies or the 4 I mentioned? I mentioned "Lucy" fourth, because it now is #4 of the year for me, but still I'd rather watch it than the nominations. It had flaws, though. But the other 3 are here to stay, IMO.

I have not watched "Interstellar", but I want to see what the hype is all about. I might cry, lol. One pre-conception I have is that there is no outer space in reality.

Yeah I cried like a little bitch every time.
The movie is great especially if you can appreciate the science in it. My only problem was that it was trying to push a bunch of new age pseudo-scientific ideas a bit too much.

Sorry, man. I'm not the one who's going to appreciate science of it. The way I see it it's brainwashing.

I am not a sci-fi guy. Meanwhile this looks promising:

And Black Swan got an Oscar and it is one of the best movies in modern-day cinema. The thing that only broken films got awards is not valid.

I dončt know about the other one, but Wild was worth watching, IMO.

For best film I am between The Theory of Everything and The Imitation Game, what makes me be between Eddie Redmayne and my father Benedict Cumberbatch. For best actress I want Rosamund Pike to take it. For best sound and video editing I want Interestellar to win.

Amen. Embarrassing little nomination for a film as enjoyable as Gone Girl.

Okay, Boyhood was one of the most pointless films Ive ever seen. And Ive watched a lot of pointless films. A lot. This one is unbeatable.

"Gone Girl" was great. I watched it second time and it seemed better, even though it was not supposed to be because of the plot.
