I honestly do not think she looks Lebanese, to be dark like the first photo of her in the pigtails is I would say is not normal but it isn’t super rare, you see it in the summer. But more so her facial features, I am not the best with this “passing” business so I could not say exactly where, but I really don’t think she looks typical Lebanese. I lived in Lebanon for awhile, when I think of Lebanese I think of a different face shape, longer than hers. I would really say my first guess if I saw her would be Indian. I saw in some of her younger before surgery photos she looked a little more Lebanese but still I would not think this immediately, you know? I am tired haha

It is even weirder to me that she is a Maronite Catholic. I’m not Lebanese but I am a Maronite (we are an ethnoreligious group) from a very close area to Lebanon and I posted members of my own family here: my grandparents (https://www.theapricity.com/forum/showthread.php?379477-Pass-class-grandparents) have a small thread and I linked some other examples of my area specifically in there… we don’t really look “white” in the Western sense, as you can see we look Middle Eastern, but I have never seen someone who looks like her before. Before surgery maybe she looks more Lebanese but honestly after getting so much work done she kind of doesn’t look like a human being to me anymore lol. Indo-Iranid is the best way I can describe her but there is more to it. I don’t think anyone is saying she is completely unpassable in Lebanon, especially before surgery, but it is disingenuous to say that operated-on Mia Khalifa is not atypical… like, anywhere. She doesn’t really fit into one country typically anymore.

No in Australia we know the difference and Lebanese have been in Australia quite a bit longer than other Muslim groups although one of my friends who is Pakistani had a relative that came to Australia in the 1900s and came out to help with camels in the 1900s although she was born in Pakistan. Anyway there are quite a few Lebanese that have been here for a few generations. Some are Christian as well. Some Lebanese came out in the 1800s and were Christian but the biggest bulk came out between 1975 and 1990 and most of these are Muslim.
