What are 'Ashkenazi eyes'?

I have a mate and people guess his ethnicity correct and often cite the shape and look of his eyes. The term 'Ashkenazi eyes' is brought up.. so what do ashkenazi eyes look like exactly? My mate is in his mid 20's. So does anyone have any good pictures which portray the eye shape seemingly distinct in people with Ashkenazi ancestry?

He has slightly upturned eyes. when he was younger, he was made fun of because he looked 'chinese', and they all called him that. he has heavy eyelids when he opens his eyes wide but has prominant epicanthal folds when he squints, making his eyes look slanted downwards.

I don't know, but about 2/3 of the examples used are either not pure AJ or not AJ at all - Stallone is probably the most obvious example, but Netanyahu is I think 1/4 Subbotnik (ethnic Russian) and Brody is 1/4 Magyar. Use pure examples.
