Story according to Daily Mail, which after Reuters was the first to air it, as far as I can see:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2988412/Top-Gear-s-Jeremy-Clarkson-suspended-BBC-fracas-producer.html

They call it a food fight, but Clarkson was given a final warning in 2014, allegedly for using the N-word in a nursery rhyme. Also in 2014 he used the word "slope" to describe an Asian man. The latter incident was aired and Top Gear was ruled to have breached broadcasting rules.

Jeremy is love, Jeremy is life. But really, I'm positive he didn't mean that. I mean c'mon, he pokes fun at many races and cultures. He's the classic conservative Brit, a proud one.

A classic funny guy for sure. It was a pretty good show.

It was clear he punched a producer. As much as I like Top Gear. Can understand his suspension.

Can see Clarkson moving the show to SKY or channel 4.

I have heard about him and how he has said some things that have gotten him into trouble, especially because he reviews cars from all over the world...

Aww, BBC got upset, how sad.

Fair play Jeremy, keep the laughs coming - from somewhere else though i guess.

Still, shouldn't have hit the guy really, only put his foot in it.

He's truly the last of a dying breed.....

In the BBC yes, but not in general. Top gear wouldn't be nearly as popular without him. He's a rogue, but an entertaining one.

He punched Piers Morgan, which makes him okay in my book.

Not sure what you mean exactly, but if you mean you're young and easily offended, then yes it's a shame.

I mean really, my generation those born in the 1990s.... they're a lost generation, no morals, no values, hollow personalities...... they're basically clay shaped by society.

But ofcourse, with every generation, there's bright young minds....

Ahh i agree 100% with you there.

I just like Clarkson because he's a bit of a relief from all the PC ass-kissing you get on T.V/Media these days, not planning on having a T.V in the near future anyway though tbh.

When this came across social media, we thought it was a hoax. Jeremy Clarkson, the host of a major international tv show, was suspended. Top Gear, the show he has hosted since 2002, will not air this Sunday.

Based on reports in the British media, the main reason for the suspension is because Clarkson described a bridge as having “a slope on it” while filming an episode. The episode was filmed in Burma, and witch hunting “anti-racists” claimed that the word slope is a “racial slur for Asian people.”

Rest of the story (http://conservative-headlines.com/2015/03/bbc-suspends-top-gear-host-for-using-racist-geometry/)

The Falkland plates on the cars was a bigger incident.. They deserved a kick in for that in Argentina. Could have sparked a proper international incident.

Shouldn't have invaded our islands.

That's not the point. Argentina were beaten fairly. We should not go into Argentina taunting. It is not a gracious way to act as a victor. Especially when you are representing the public State network.

We are acting like the yanks, brash and loud.

Well firstly the president of Argentina had been acting brash and loud over the Falklands prior to this, no doubt to garner public support, and secondly while Top Gear are representatives of the country, they are not representatives on the same level as those in government.

Plus the taunting was indirect as hell anyway, it's not on the same level.

I can emphathise from the perspective of the proud Argentinians that got pissed off, but we shouldn't act like a whipped dog about it. Top Gear did a silly thing and got in trouble for it, and it would have been better that they hadn't, but that indignation is already there below the surface anyway.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/celebritynews/11493270/Jeremy-Clarkson-to-be-sacked-by-the-BBC.html

Jeremy Clarkson to be sacked as Top Gear presenter. BBC investigation says he verbally abused producer Oisin Tymon for 20 minutes, then physically abused him for 30 seconds. Chris Evans tipped to take over. Uncertain whether James May and Richard Hammond will stay on the show or not.

Judging by the article the sacking doesn't seem to affect Clarkson's career so negatively, but I have the feeling I'm not going to like Top Gear much after this.

There are calls to bring in Steve Coogan, which would be a good replacement.

Clarkson sold his Top Gear shares to the BBC, a couple of years back.
