Crusading for Poverty, Disease, and Death [Paul Driessen]

vgP1YVcB4ZE

Lecture by Paul Driessen given to the 27th Annual Meeting of the Doctors for Disaster Preparedness held in Denver, Colorado; August 2009. http://www.ddponline.org (http://www.ddponline.org/)

Paul Driessen is the author of the excellent book, "Eco-Imperialism: Green Power, Black Death." It exposes an axis of evil consisting of Western governments, the United Nations, environmentalist groups and various non-governmental organizations that are usurping economic and industrial progress in the Third World and keeping millions in the grip of misery and death all in the name of ecology protection and "sustainable development."

Science, Politics and Death
Environmental extremism kills. Millions die annually because of restrictions on DDT, and imposing the "Kyoto" regulations would kill many more.

Environmental Genocide
By virtually banning DDT use worldwide, the UNs POP treaty will condemn millions to death by malaria — a desirable result in the eyes of those seeking radical depopulation.

Rethinking Green
There are legitimate environmental problems. These problems do not measure up to the end-of-the-world scary scenarios we hear so much about with global warming, but they are real, immediate problems that need attention.

Paul Driessen is a lobbyist. He is not an economist or an environmental scientist. He is a member and adviser of a think tank movement that inundated Congress in the early 2000s, leading to to gut the EPA.

He is a paid spokesman for Heartland Institute, which has enjoyed long term funding by the largest corporate interests in the world, including Exxon.

Their lobby is tightly linked to the support of Exxon, BP and Big Oil, and nuclear energy (GE in Japan) by submitting testimony in a congressional hearing. None of his publications has been peer reviewed by members of the scientific community and all is designed to pander to climate deniers for a fee.

In his book "Eco-Imperialism: Green Power, Black Death", he basically says that "environmental groups" cause as much or more harm than "greedy corporations".

This is an outstanding statement on how the EU elites, environmental greens and their NGO, corporate and governmental allies want to subjugate the world and renounce economic advancement, except for themselves.

The bottom line is that these European elites and allies are using environmentalism to foster poverty and racism so as to perpetuate their prior colonial legacy and influence in the name of saving the environment, and maintaining impoverishment for those who are black or brown and living in the third-world countries.

His book indicates numerous ways in which western interference is hampering African countries like keeping malaria alive by banning the use of DDT, and pushing for green energy in areas where no industrial revolution has occurred yet.

They are well picked examples that do illustrate the argument but the world is a very complicated place when you try to determine "motives". He convincingly argues that eco-imperialism is responsible for the widespread hunger and deaths of millions. However, he overlooked the sad fact that most Greens in Europe are self-centered and really don't care about third-world poverty.

Most of them come from well-to-do families, they have a comfortable life and perhaps travel the world, and when they say, for instance, "we don't want nuclear energy", they don't think in the progress of the country and its inhabitants, especially middle class. This middle class also want to improve its situation, travel and do more things "in their lives".

In an interesting twist, Driessen does not limit this criticism to the political bureaucrats and radical environmental activists, but also points a finger at global corporations. On one hand, rather than standing up to the junk science and extreme positions of the radical green movement, most large corporations are simply rolling over, acquiescing to these economically dangerous demands.

They do so for no other reason than to earn billions of dollars from their investments in so-called green technologies. This is why they often seem so willing to partner with those dedicated to destroying capitalism. Driessen points out that the environmental crazies have no problem with funding.

On the other hand, a number of corporations - most notably BP, are allowing the Greens to play into their hands, duping the public into believing their pro-environmental purity, while in fact simply spinning clever PR smoke. BP, for instance, would profit greatly from acceptance of the Kyoto accord through their natural gas business, while continuing to grow oil revenues and profit.
