Tom cruise admits that he used to fantacize about killing Hitler during his youth

"I always wanted to kill Hitler, I hated him," the Hollywood star of such major blockbusters as "Top Gun" and "Mission Impossible," told the press during a visit to Seoul to promote his latest film.

"As a child studying history and looking at documents, I wondered, why didn't someone stand up and try to stop it?

You can't blame Tom for feeling that way, they say Hitler gassed 6 millon Scientologists to death.

Poor Tom, too old to be a teen idol & he's not qualified to be anything else.

How much would it cost to build a time machine, strap a bomb to Tom Cruises head, and send him back to try?

I'll be the first to donate. http://www.askcab.co.uk/upimages/mcoins21pound.jpg

Like all celebrities, Tom Cruise is an idiot. These people don't have opinions, they have advertising campaigns. He'd probably tell the world he'd want to kill his own mother if it'd get him another million to pass on to the CoS to allow him to "level-up" ;) And considering the nature of Hollywood, is this really all that surprising?

What a pathetic fool, my guess is that before he went rambling mad he had high thoughts about Hitler, but as an Hollywooder and a "role model" and also complete whackjob he had to say this to "lighten" his consuness(?).

Dreaming about killing people who died long before you were born seems like an unhealthy way to spend a childhood.

My childhood was spent wanting to ride my skateboard, play sports, hang out with my friends, go swimming, play video games, etc.

I just remembered Tom Cruise is the same age as me. Which means he attended school is the 70s & was exposed to the same propaganda I was. In the 70s there was only 3 broadcast networks & cable was in it's infancy. That was the decade brainwashing miniseries like "Roots" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075572/) & "The Holocaust" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077025/) were broadcast. Naturally the we would discuss them the next day at school, usually in social studies class. I was shown the film "The Diary of Anne Frank" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052738/) at school, in either social studies or history. Some of us would later question the accuracy of what we were taught, others just forgot because of short attention spans but some were completely indoctrinated like Tom. Perhaps that explains why he was succeptable to a cult like Scientology.

Most actors are not really good lefties, they're self serving egomaniacs, and they know that spouting this stuff will help their careers so they do it, simple as that.

If I may I'd like to comment on the premise of this film "Valkyrie". This is the only Hollywood film that I've ever really heard of in which Germans in WWII [The men behind the 1944 Stauffenberg plot to kill Hitler] are cast as "the good guys".

The Noble Plot That Failed. It's supposed to be a tragic movie; a great chance missed. However, there was no clear line of succession. If the plot had succeeded, the German state would have almost certainly descended into civil war over succession, with hardline Nazis fighting Stauffenberg&co., and various other forces of discord fighting each other [there were even Bavarian secessionists active late-war, I'm told]. The eastern front would have collapsed within days as panicked and confused front soldiers deserted what they saw as a dying regime, or tried to return to fight in their home regions in the civil war. Yes, "WWII" would have ended much more quickly. But, since the Americans and British were still pinned down in the mud in Normandy at the time (July 1944), the Soviet Union would have wound up conquering much more of Europe than it ultimately did.

Imagine a communist Netherlands, a communist Denmark, a communist Switzerland, a communist Austria, a fully-communist united post1945 Germany from Rhine-to-'Oder-Neisse'! This is not an improbable outcome if the Stauffenberg plot had succeeded.....

The reasonably-sharp person should be able to think on a little bit higher of a level than "killing Hitler would've ended the war sooner --> Which is good."
