Those that score minimal (below 1 percent) admixture on 23and me, do you consider it noise of real admix? Do you score any? Curious.

I score 1% Sardinian and .8% Sub-Saharan African. I always thought that both were pretty unique population groups that would be easy to identify in an otherwise Northern European profile, but I specifically asked Doug McDonald about them and he claimed that the smaller SSA was real while the larger Sardinian likely was not. I also haven't been able to find any traces of Sardinian or even Italian in my family tree, so I'm inclined to say it is noise, but 1% seems large to be noise IMO.

Anything up to 1% could be considered noise. And even if it actually was real admixture it would be totally irrelevant considering 1% does not alter the rest of your predominant makeup one bit.

There are maniacs out there that would obsess and suffer from an unpleasant 1% but you don't seem like one of them.

:D Ahah, yes I imagine there are such cases. 23nadme ancestry breakdown claims to go only 500 years back, so it is pretty recent. I would just like to know is there any chance to see if it's noise or not. There is a way to check if we share with some distant relative who is from that other ethnicity , but still it is confusing.
