Lithuania Sulks at Latvia's Refusal to Call Russia a Threat (http://sputniknews.com/europe/20150326/1020050399.html)

Latvian President Andris Berzins publicly announced that he absolutely disagrees with his Lithuanian counterpart Dalia Grybauskaite, who has repeatedly stated that Russia can be seen as a threat.

The governments of Latvia and Lithuania have differing opinions on the topic of building relations with Russia.

If before the Baltic countries tried to pursue a unified foreign policy, it is now apparent that they are faced with overwhelming differences in opinion.

Latvian President Andris Berzins publicly announced that he absolutely disagrees with his Lithuanian counterpart Dalia Grybauskaite, who has repeatedly stated that Russia can be seen as the 'aggressor country'.

In an interview with TV LTV7, Berzins said that he did not agree with the stance of Grybauskaite, and called it unacceptable.

In addition, Andris Berzins mentioned that his responsibility as the head of state is to maintain stability in Latvia. The president also said that he always observes the principle: “Do not look for enemies, look for a solution,” Latvian media reports.

Latvian president is nobody, he doesn't even have any real power.

It's pretty logic. He just doesn't want to give the russian minority a pretext and be in the same situation as ukraine.

Can agree with this. Much harder for Latvia with a 25% their total pop being Russians to antagonize openly than for Lithuanians where they are less than 5%.

Soon we will hear more about the "Baltic nazis" in Lithuania?

They better not cry to NATO when they become Russia's next target for expansion.

They better not cry to NATO when they become Russia's next target for expansion.

That won't happen, except in fiction.
