That is, which Caribbean island has the most purely black people? I won't include Puerto Rico or Dominican Republic since they are more mixed. This question does not mean which island has the largest proportion of people with African ancestry, but which has the most people who are purely African.
Haiti
Cuba
Jamaica
Trinidad and Tobago
Barbados
Bahamas
Grenada
Bermuda
Saint Lucia
Cayman Islands
Antigua and Barbuda
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
Or other, none of the above, etc.

Haiti, I would not be able to rank the rest in relationship to one another though

If we could place a country from a corner to another, Haiti would be one of the kind that placing near Africa would go unnoticed from rest of people there.

I think I'd go with Haiti. Just based on the Haitian-Americans I know at least.

How can you forget Dominica and St Kitts & Nevis? Back to the geography classroom for you!
Anyway, I have no idea. Probably Haiti because they make their Dominican neighbours look like Hallstatt Nordids

I wouldn't go that far. Dominicans are fairly similar to Cape Verdeans.

I did not mean that literally :picard1:
I meant that people in Haiti are much closer to being fully African than Dominicans are.
And also, Dominicans look down on Haitians for being blacker.

Yes this is true. But then you have Haitians, who look blacker than some Africans (seriously).
The question relates more to genetics though.. is there any study that shows whether or not one Caribbean island or another is more African?

Most likely Haiti. They had the first slave revolt, and there are relatively few people from other races there.

Haiti, and most of the Europeans and mulattoes on the Island were killed or kicked off the island during the revolt in the colonial period.

oh i'm by no means saying that Dominicans look blacker than Haitians xD its funny because you're right about them looking blacker. Haiti has to be the blackest genetically speaking because there aren't hardly any white people that live there so they cant mix, whereas Cuba has lots of non afro-cubans so in the past few hundred years there must have been some mixing.

Purely black Cubans, however, do look very African. But they look Nigerian and a lot of Nigerians are the lightest West Africans.
Here is Christina Milian's mother. I bet you she is at least 90% African.

They actually often do. Here are some Igbo women.. she can fit with them easily, features also.

While she is probably not genetically 100% African, I certainly think that Christina Milian's mother can pass as a full Nigerian.
The darkest West Africans tend to be Senegambians, Beninese, and Ghanaians. Also, Central Africans tend to be very dark also, and Haitians have heavy Central African ancestry.

I just came across this study (An anthropological genetic perspective on creolization in the anglophone caribbean). It only includes English-speaking islands, but it's the only genetic information I've ever seen for some of the smaller islands. Of the islands in the study, St. Kitts is the most African. I suspect that Haiti is more African than them though, even though they weren't included in this study.

Notes: This study focused on Afro-Caribbeans, so Indian descendants in Trinidad and elsewhere are not included in the data. The samples were taken in urban settings, except the samples from Dominica. I'm not familiar enough with that island to comment on whether or not that would effect the averages, but it may have.

There are people that Native American on these islands...?? Wow.
Anyway, most of these islands are within African American range, and I assume most of the European ancestry is British and Irish.
