What's the best company for those of us who would like to pinpoint our ancestors' homelands in the British Isles? I understand that 23 and Me groups Irish and British together, which is unsatisfactory for those of us whose ancestry ranges from Munster to Norfolk to Pembrokeshire to Argyll. I once read that there was a test that would determine where you would best fit in the British Isles but I haven't seen another thing about it. Any helpful advice is appreciated. Thanks!:)

Your raw data to gedmatch, you ll have plenty to toy with.

Some MDLP autosomal seems to work well for British apparently.

British Isles genes are too similar to really be able to be distinguished by a general DNA test, at least any I know of. As Petalpusher said, you'll get more info uploading your results to Gedmatch and maybe using Eurogenes K13 or K15.

However, it can't tell you where exactly your ancestry is from as it works on averages. My known ancestry is England and Ireland but I plot off the east coast of Scotland. Your non-British Isles genes will also confuse things a bit and pull you away from the British Isles so you could plot in say Germany.
