She looks whiter than me. I've posted her before but it's bewildering.
She is apparently Louisiana Creole.
But when you dig deeper you realize:
a) her father's side passed as white on the census, and was likely the victim of the one drop rule. It'd be like calling my grandmother black.
b) her mother's side had one African ancestor, most of the rest was Swiss, Spanish especially (from Balearic islands) and French.
