Gruevski has family roots in Greek Macedonia. His paternal grandparents stem from Achlada, a village in the Meliti municipality of the Florina Prefecture, Greece, where his family had the Greek surname Grouios ("Γρούϊος"). His grandfather, Nicholas Grouios, joined the Greek Army during the Second World War and fought in the Greco-Italian War where he lost lis life. Some years later, during the Greek Civil War his grandmother emigrated to the Socialist Republic of Macedonia where she gained citizenship.

He was planted to subvert the country and keep it economically backwards by wasting huge amounts of money on pointless monuments, stuff like that. :)

Well, considering how he does not remotely look Slavic makes my theory feasible.

The entire project has been kept largely under wraps since it began, which stirred controversy right from the start. Many objected to its high cost, estimated by some at over €200 million, and the authorities’ reluctance to disclose precise figures. Others were disappointed by the lack of public debate while some disputed its architectural value.
