More Azeris live in Iran than in Azerbaijan and it is rather puzzling how docile they are since they (Turks in general) are typically revanchist. One has to wonder why haven't they at least attempted to pull a Kosovo and form an independent state to unify later with Azerbaijan. Tabriz leaving Iran would change up the geopolitics in the Middle East in a big way and in Turkey's favor too.
