I would like to know more about the haplogroup. IDK much of anything about it, please teach me, I am very curious because my cousin has the I1 Y-DNA and therefore my direct ancestor had it. I'd really like to know more about I1 now :)

Interesting. That doesn't mean it's Neolithic though does it?

It was probably a WHG lineage absorbed by early Neolithic farmers, but sometime more recently it underwent a rapid growth spurt (ie population expansion with lots of I1 individuals), i think sometime around 2500BC onwards iirc. Don't know if opinion has changed or not recently, been a while since i looked into it.

Scania-Denmark-Saxony seems to be the source of the expansion that reflects the present.
Btw, the early iron age expansions of northern I1 and N1c have about the same timeline, it should be looked at more closely.

I think it has it's origins in Mesolithic Europe but it's not certain where I1 was originated.

Vikings were mainly bearded swarthy subnordids.
