The U.S. Department of Defense confirmed Tuesday that dozens of U.S. vehicles and weapons, including tanks, armored personnel carriers, and artillery pieces, were abandoned by fleeing Iraqi troops when Islamic State forces captured the city of Ramadi in central Iraq Sunday. A Pentagon spokesman, Colonel Steve Warren, estimated that a half-dozen tanks were abandoned, a similar number of artillery pieces, a larger number of armored personnel carriers, and about 100 wheeled vehicles such as Humvees, the Associated Press reported.

The fleeing Iraqi troops and the abandonment of U.S. weapons are nearly a replay of what happened when ISIS captured the northern Iraqi city of Mosul last June. It also follows what the AP described as “a pattern over the past year” of Iraqi forces leaving behind arms and equipment that the U.S. has to destroy in later airstrikes against ISIS.

The rout brought renewed criticism of President Obama’s strategy of limiting the U.S. role in the fight against ISIS to an air war and Special Operations missions, while relying on local and regional forces to provide the combat units for the ground war.

"The president's plan isn't working. It's time for him to come up with overarching strategy to defeat the ongoing terrorist threat," said House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio).

John beohener is Netanyahu loving cunt.
I think Obama should come clear and let ISIS be just like turkey as done. Anyways what's the big deal?! they're striving for the same way of life that Saudi Arabia our ally has in place already.

Well, do you realize how many of them have we killed in daily bases including U.S bombing the shit out of them and Assad besides bombing also using chemical weapons by killing thousands and thousands of kids as well??
I'm sorry but I don't buy anything western media tries to sell me. Not to long ago west was partners with these guys. So much so infact we were hours way from partnering with them to bomb Assad. And I mean exactly the same guys they call themeseves ISIS.
Sorry to disappoint you but I'm fair logical thinker and I don't buy into the cheap propaganda. I want peace and wish innocent lives to live in peace.
If Obama strikes a peace deal with ISIS that would save countless innocent lives. Is as simple as that.

You're the American, not me. You're the one living in a country that is deploying aircraft bombers in the Middle-East, not me.

Not the West in general. Again, the country you live in, the United States of America, was THE partner with ISIS. And even if your country was partner with ISIS, does that excuse the atrocities these guys committed?

Obama should follow a paleoconservative foreign policy instead of a neoconservative one: instead of scattering U.S. military all across the planet to play world-police here and there, he should repatriate the army home to secure the borders from all undesirables, Jihadists included, and adopt an isolationist and non-interventionist foreign policy. There are lots of conflicts throughout the world and you complain that American involvement only made them worse? Fine. The U.S. should stay out of them, period.

With current political and financial setup of US it equals to suicide. US can't survive without leeching resources from its colonies.

Yeah well, the U.S. has to change their political and financial setup, then. Americans have to reorganize themselves from an empire to a nation if they want to survive the coming years. Human history proves that empires ALWAYS collapse while nations may continue to exist and thrive, provided they invest the required efforts to do so.

OP is trying to blame iraqi army or make them out to be incompetent when reality is both in Mosul last year and Ramadi last week, they were set-up by their NATO overseers, who throw them in a siege like environment, and 'suddenly' ISIS (composed of Arab special forces + Western intel + jihadis) goes on a 'turbo' offensive with a boost in logistics, ammo, etc. Due to direct military aid from Americans, as proven by the Iraqi gov't who arrested some US and Israeli military advisers.
