“Dear Future Husband” is a follow-up to Meghan Trainor's breakout hit “All About That Bass”.
Another retro-flavored hit, Trainor gives out a list of demands she wants her hypothetical spouse to fulfill. She mostly plays the role of the pampered wife, but she lets the act slip a couple of times.
"Dear Future Husband" is currently sitting at No. 17 on the USA Billboard Hot 100 chart.

While the lyrics to the track suggest that Meghan — a big supporter of self-confidence and positive body image — is outlining exactly what her guy needs to know and do to be her “one and only all my life,” the video depicts Meghan going back to the 1950s, scrubbing floors and working hard in the kitchen.

Feminists are losing their shit over a video of somebody wanting a traditional relationship. I hate this video, too, but not because of the message. Musically, it's just shite. Nevermind that, though. I love the video images. Young girls need to be taught domestic skills, since many girls and women I know cannot cook and think cleaning, childbirth, and childcare is beneath their awesome, liberated selves.
The Feminist View
Basically, what the feminists get from the video is that Meghan's biggest turn on is ego-stroking, especially from a man. To them, Meghan is making things too simple and man-focused.
