This one always has, especially when I was in a really dark depression back in my late teens/early 20s. Yeah, I know, it's rap.

But Acadian and Cajun music always lifts my spirits.

This my friends, is the most epic Black Metal there is. It also happens to be pure Black Metal. It also happens to be "ethnically conscious" Black Metal.
Epic Black Metal is called such because it raises the spirit. The guitar technique, the style of tremolo, has an emotional equivalent. It is supreme art. It is supreme expression, vomiting the degenerate philosophies and religions that have caused European man spiritual sickness.
Unlike technical Death Metal that is a direct symptom of mans spiritual sickness and has no emotional equivalent to the sounds produced. It just chugs and clinks and clanks all over the guitar. Impressive from a technical perspective, but not from an expressive, artistic point of view. Black Metal is profound, Death Metal is its shallow older brother.

This epic piece of music always gives me goose skin and fills me with a sane ecstatic furor, like I could take on the world with a sword and rid my lands of all evil. I think this is the definition for a song that lifts my spirit :D

How shall we leave the lost road ? Time's getting short so follow me ! A leader's task so clearly to find a path out of the daaaaaark !!! :viking1:
The following is just a very joyous, happy, naive song that cheers me up in whatever miserable mood I might be. :D When I see this crowd of ethnic dutchies, parents and kids smiling and clapping in their hands as the singer jumps around, to me it symbolizes "european family spirit" at its best.

No but I'm just curious as to why! :)
I guess I have the same question for all you metalheads who've posted above as well: what is it about metal that is uplifting? I don't get it really.

Fair enough. I won't press it. :)
I do appreciate the fact that there is still some mystique left in terms of differences between the sexes. :thumb001:
