View Full Version : Post Individuals Who Are a Mix of Italian and Iberian (Spanish or Portuguese)

Since there was already a thread about Britalians, and another thread about people who are British/Spanish admixed, I make this thread about posting examples of people who are a mix of Iberian/Italian in different proportions.

Post examples of people who are a mix of Portuguese/Italian or Spanish/Italian.

On this other thread of mine, there is a first example of a Spanish/Italian admixed person (I feel lazy to post all of her pictures directly on here, again):

http://www.theapricity.com/forum/showthread.php?174027-Classify-Venezuelan-Actress

I am sure there will be lots of examples of Argentinians, Uruguayans and Brazilians on this thread

I think they only exist in south america?

Indeed, most of them are native from South America (Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Brazil, Venezuela, etc), but not necessarily all of them. There must be some few isolated cases of Italians that settled in Spain/Portugal and had kids with Iberians, as well as the opposite. The Spanish singer Miguel Bose, would be a good example of this. I think he is the son of a Spanish father and an Italian mother. And I have seen Spanish pageants (half Italian/half Spanish, representing Spain) participating in the beauty contest "Miss Italia nel Mondo" with is a beauty contest of women of Italian descent from worldwide, representing their respective countries.

Jorge Marrale, actor from Argentina

Life and work

Marrale was born in Buenos Aires' industrial Barracas section to a Spanish mother and an Italian father (from the Calabria Region), in 1947. His paternal grandfather had been an actor in Italy, and instilled an interest in the art on the young Jorge, as did a performance by Italian silver screen legend Vittorio Gassman.

Venezuelan beauty peageant Silvana Santaella Arellano, from Caracas, Venezuela. She was 1st runner up on Miss Venezuela 2003, and was the winner of Miss Italia nel Mondo 2004. She is partially Italian, but her second last name (Arellano) is Basque-Navarran. She probably have some slight Amerindian admix too.

This Mexican beauty, Maite Perroni Beorlegui, has a first Italian last name, and her second last name is probably of Basque origin. She is very likely a good example of Italian/Iberian mix (though I don't know in which proportions):

This is a beautiful model (Jessica Michibata) born in Japan from an Italo-Spanish descent Argentinian father, and a Japanese mother:

She is not the best example, because she is half Japanese, and the main intention of this thread is to show people who, at least, most of their ancestry is Iberian-Italian combined. But I'm just posting her to bump this thread.

Thanks so much for those who have showed examples, but... come on, I can't believe that being here so many Argentinians and Brazilians, nobody else shows more examples of Iberian/Italian admixed people.

Good contribution. And, yeah, I didn't think about Southern France (and probably, to a less extent in the rest of France) where there are lots of Spaniards/Portuguese and Italians (and their descendants), and it's very likely that the Iberian/Italian mix occurs many times.

In Venezuela too, because most white Venezuelans are of Spanish, Italian and Portuguese descent.

It happens to me the same as you. I remember many white (or predominantly white) Venezuelans (who I knew when I lived in Venezuela) who were a mix of Italian/Spanish or Italian/Portuguese, but very few famous Venezuelans come to my mind. And the main difficulty, comes from the fact that it's hard to find out about their full background. And most of the times you only have to trust on their surnames to know that they have Italian and Iberian ancestry, but without knowing the exact proportions, and how recent is one ancestry or the other.

Yes, those cases are fine. I myself have posted a couple of Venezuelans with an Italian/Spanish mix, and some minor Amerindian admixture. As long as their Italian/Iberian admixture is more than 50% (but if it is 75% or more, that would be even better), they qualify as good examples of Italian/Iberian mixes.

What I claiming to Carlos is that his last examples are Spanish/Portuguese mixes, when the purpose of the thread is to show Iberian (Spanish, Portuguese, or a combination of both) AND Italian mixes.

True, but according to an Italian article a Diego's grandmother is Italian (the mother of his father). So he is 1/4 Italian, I don't think more than that.

"Avvocato lei è quello che ha curato l’iter per far diventare comunitario il giocatore Diego. Come avvenne?

Lets revive this thread...

Most of the white Argentinian students on this picture, are very likely a mixture of Spanish/Italian in diverse proportions, as it's the case of most white Argentinians:

Venezuelan beauty peageant Silvana Santaella Arellano, from Caracas, Venezuela. She was 1st runner up on Miss Venezuela 2003, and was the winner of Miss Italia nel Mondo 2004. She is partially Italian, but her second last name (Arellano) is Basque-Navarran. She probably have some slight Amerindian admix too.

Some pics of her:

That's a stupid stereotype. There are many horrible people in Venezuela too. Particularly more among those Venezuelans who are very SSA admixed.

I hate when some people overrate the African heritage in Venezuela, and I always defend that Venezuela is a multiracial country, with not only SSA admixed people, but also with good numbers of mestizos and whites (Venezuela received a significant European immigration between the late 1940s and the late 1970s). But I am also a very objective and realistic person, and I also hate these stereotypes overemphasizing the supposed beauty of Venezuelans in general, as if it was a mostly Euro country, when is not.

Most of the beautiful Venezuelan girls are in the middle and upper classes, mostly among Euro descent Venezuelans, and among predominately European mestizos, and that's it.

Amerindians, and heavily Amerindian mixed mestizas can be pretty as well, in their own way, though.

I remember when I was a child, it was popular back then to watch those Miss of the World hahaha, and some Venezuelan girl would always win, damn..., but that was back in time when ppl actually were watchin that contest, you know, late 90's lol.

I wonder how recent her Italian ancestry is because the Cocco surname can also be found in Uruapan but I don't know how common it is, I know there were Italian settlements in Michoacan, maybe she descendents from those old Italian settlers
