The Jomon of Northern Japan looks more like a Caucasian Ainu but the Jomon of Southern Japan and Okinawan look like Southeast Malay or Polynesian.

This explains why a Japanese who looks Ainu is so extremely rare is because the Jomons they mixed me didn't look like a Ainu. Although anthropologist do not even consider Ainu appearance as Caucasian only that they have a non-Asian appearance.
