I have ancestor with this name and It's coming from Switzerland, but it is Rhaeto-Romansch or Ladin.

I am wondering what the ethnic background of a person with this name would be? Were the Ladin and Rhaeto-Romansch speakers, what was their genetics? Were they like French or Italians or Germans? This is also an Italian version of the name: Gallatini.
