roma people are found out to descendt from northwest india, there are different analysis mtdna, ydna and autosomal, autosomally the roma are considered to have been a meghawal or kashmiri pandit like population, the kashmiri pandits are brahmins but the meghawal are a untouchable caste from northwestindia and pakistan. but they are quiete west-asian like though

Sure, but it's an interesting hypothesis for Roma people; you guys are actually (correct me if I'm wrong) the only south Asian group that have ever reached as far as Europe as a population in such big numbers around 1000 AD until recent times.

true, but jews are unique i think, they have the torah and oral tradition of being at home in israel and wanting to go back, now they established the state, gypsies dont have that tradition, also there are lots of traveller cultures around the world, why the irish travellers took up a travelling lifestyle etc.? also gypsies could have come as slaves or mercenaries or whatever, like african americans

roma people are found out to descendt from northwest india, there are different analysis mtdna, ydna and autosomal, autosomally the roma are considered to have been a meghawal or kashmiri pandit like population, the kashmiri pandits are brahmins but the meghawal are a untouchable caste from northwestindia and pakistan. but they are quiete west-asian like though
