There are a few Nordid types found in both the Sicilian and Andalusian ones, more amongst the Sicilian ones.

It is not exclusive to southern europe, brunette women all over europe tend to dye their hair blonde.

I'm central european(Hungary) and tons of women here are fake blonde. Most women with blonde hair here are fake blonde. Hair bleaching is popular even in stereotypically blonde countries like Sweden

In southern Europe blond hair is idealized and is seen in general as being a symbol of beauty.

I live in the one and have visited the other numerous times thus based my observations on observation, enjoy !

Most of Spaniards fit better in Southern Italy than in France imo. I've always said it.

They look more alike than I would expect, NOT because of the Sicilians looking more European than the stereotype, but because the Andalusians have elements that we do not often think exist there: Semitic, Armenoid and even East Med!

Most people, in both photo sets, also pass in Greece.

Yet, when you look carefully at all the photo sets, you realize that there are, indeed, more people in the Sicilian set with a "Jewish" (i.e. diluted Levantine) vibe, whereas with the Andalusians, there is more of a North African vibe.

Neither group passes, collectively, anywhere north of the Alps, Danube or Pyrenees.

So my conclusion, in continuation with the above post:

a) Both groups look similar,
b) Both groups pass better in the Levant than anywhere north of the Alps, Pyrenees and Danube with the exception of France
c) The light Sicilians look more like Jews than like genuine Central Europeans (Armenoid vibes),
d) The Andalusians have more of a North African vibe, the Sicilians more of a Levantine influence


This look, however, is Iberian specific.

Maybe in coloring, but the features of northern Spanish do not look southern Italian to me.

Anyway I still stand by what I said. These Andalusians are similar to the Sicilians because they are exotic, more so than we think Spanish should look based on what is often said on this site. In fact I do not think they even look particularly "western". I see more that pass in Lebanon than in the UK!

Having met many, many Jews, those types are common. Basically a look that is intermediate between a North Italian/Austrian/Swiss and a Levantine, with the latter evident in their mouth region, eyes, and nose shape.

I think this look is actually common in Sicily though not as much as among Jews.
