On the autosomal plot map below I've put circles around a few individuals who are positioned far away from the populations they come from. We have:
A Frenchman who is Spanish
A Spaniard who is French
A Briton who is very Irish
A Frenchman who is Irish/British
A German who is Scottish
A Briton who is Danish/Swedish
A German who is close to Polish
An Italian who is Austrian
A Russian who is close to Swiss
A Portugese man who is close to Italian

Assuming the subjects were selected for self-reported native ancestry, it could be that these individuals were unknowingly of mixed/other ancestry. Also, the plotting method will not be 100% accurate. But could there be other explanations?
