23andme also shows me as being more British and Scandinavian than German... though I should have more German ancestry than Norwegian. It's different than expected, that's for sure.

Most of the German immigrants are listed as being from (especially) Niedersachsen and also Holstein while they were parts of Prussia in the 1800s.

Further back I have some German ancestors listed as living in Baden (and it goes back a ways in church records too) before coming to the colonies during the 1700s.




There are holes for some parts of my family.
