It has become fashionable among anthropological circles to say R1a and R1b are Indo-European. Don't get me wrong; Largely, this makes sense.
If R1a in Europe is mainly Helleno-Balto-Slavic, is R1b Monlith Builder/Celtic (Celtic in a semi-loose sense here...)?
When I think of Germanics, I think of "I", or the subclade often found in Scandinavia. I understand it goes down a thin strip through central europe down to the Balkans as well. Might be something to the ancient notion that the Germanics are Spartans afterall.....
In a sense, there are many threads on this forum which address this issue...but I havn't seen anything in a very condensed, single thread sort of way.
Are R1a's a bit closer to the Proto-Indo-European prototype? Is R1b this prototype+stronger west euro cro-mag substrate culturally, genetically, etc?
Share whatever thoughts come ot mind.
