The argument for the Wednesday crucifixion theory primarily stems from Matthew 12:40 which states. “For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” The proponents of this argument say that in order for Jesus to prove that He is the Messiah that He must have met this condition or He could not be the Messiah. So regardless as to how long Jesus was in the grave, we need not have any doubt that Jesus is the One.
