Ethno-linguistic Alliance instead of EU.

The EU in its current form is not exactly good. There are a lot of problems it has created. The economies could improve, the mass immigration, disagreements in geopolitics, etc. Even creating a common EU army separate from NATO would be a problem because of language/communication differences.

So I propose for types of Ethno-Linguistic alliances to be created to replace the EU and NATO.

Here are the alliances:

1)Mediterranean/Latin Alliance - Spain, Portugal, Greece, France, Italy, Brazil, Mexico, etc.
Population- ~780 million

2)Anglo Alliance - US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand
Population- ~450 million

3)Germanic/Nordic Alliance - Germany, Austria, Sweden, etc.
Population: ~150 million

4)Slavic1/Eastern European Alliance - Poland, Ukraine, Romania, Czech Republic, Hungary, etc.
Population: ~170 million

5)Slavic2/Russian Alliance - Russian and Belarus
Population: ~150 million

To balance the powers some alliances like the Germanic and Eastern European alliances would be allowed to create nuclear weapons for just in case moments.
Certain countries would have to increase military spending to rival others.
These alliances would be for military and trade.

Crazy? Unrealistic? Stupid? Brilliant? What do you think?
