I am starting to grow a pretty big beard and I do not know if I should shave it off or not... Should I?

Depends on the "kind" of your facial hair.

It is thick and a straight, it just gets itchy and idk if I should shave it off.

Beards > No beards

I like beards as long as they not to big, but I just feel like I might look odd if I grow a full beard and I only 17, people think I look so much older when I grow it out and it weird..

I'd say this way :p

If your facial hair looks like this:

Or this:

Or is simply not full and there are "gaps" which leaves part of your cheek without hair, you should shave.

If you shave it I will mail you a pack of tampons.

Listen pal, if you want women to flock to you like white on rice, you'll keep the beard.

I have a little gap between my chin and side of my face, it is really small, and it does not fully cover my cheeks unless I let it grow more, so I think I might shave it off, but im not 100%

Then you can keep it, probably. ;) Or shave some parts, leaving other parts.

You are 17, it will be very slow to grow a real beard.
But you should try to see how you look with some facial hair.
For my part I have a Van Dycke beard for some times now (not fully complete nonetheless, I have trouble rejoining the moustache and the chin hairs).

I am super hairy, I used to have to shave every morning but I am too lazy so I just let it grow until it becomes annoying. :)

If you want to shave, then shave it. It's your body and up to you to make your own decisions and nobody else. http://i.picasion.com/resize80/d9453e4308e147fe60c7b238557e00d4.gif
It may help your skin pores to breathe better in the heat by shortening it into a designer-style beard (like George Michael, for instance) and be cooler during the summer... depending on where you live.

It's entirely your decision. I had a mustache- goatee combo when I was married and it itched like hell, the mustache split in two at the middle and wouldn't connect with the goatee. It was the best things in the world for me to shave it off. People seem to prefer me clean shaven, but that's just me. Your hair growth and facial structure might favor you with a beard.

I'll say something from myself.

It is his decision, yes, obviously. But he must be curious, what people think about it. Probably, mostly people of opposite gender. ;) I always thought I have fucked up facial hair, but when I've realized that my neighbour (2 years older than me) is in worse state, I... still think I should shave, but there is a worse option. :p
