What I know about my father's heritage is that he is supposedly half polish half italian, but according to his ancestry dna results and gedmatch results he came back with some quite different results. Can someone help me interpret them and figure out what he actually is? Below are his eurogenes k13 results, eurogenes k15 results, and ancestry dna results. I'm hoping someone can give me an idea of what his actual ethnicity is. It keeps coming back more german than polish, so i'm not quite sure if that indicates german heritage or not.

The mixture of, I assume, southern Italian and Polish makes him come out similar genetically to people in Balkan countries who are a similar rate of North European, Near Eastern, and Mediterranean.

It tells me I am northern Italian, but I am a mix of Sicilian, Polish, Cape Verdean, Portuguese, etc. and that is just the midpoint.

These results aren't unexpected, he probably is half Italian and half Polish. Serbia is balkan so I could see this being a midpoint between the Slavic Polish and Mediterranean Italian. Is he southern italian?

I'm half French, 25% Irish, and 25% Southern/Central Italian, but I usually score as Northern Spanish because when you combine these three things together, I am closest to someone from Northern Spain.

Other times I score France and Northern Italy and even sometimes Swiss. However I've never scored anywhere near Irish for example.

South Italian + Polish (leaning east), just from the two main N.Atlantic and Baltic, it looks like it, they are both doubled and cut in half. Mix mode polarizes things a little but works well around 50-70% usually if you are a mix of only two countries.

Interesting. I can see how that might be confusing. The thing is that Europe is so mixed.I used DNA tribes to get my test done. Now living in Canada, I was born in Barcelona, Spain. Most people, when I tell them that I am Spanish from Barcelona over the phone or online, they automatically assume a dark haired, tanned "typical" Spaniard. However, I am a red head, I am much taller than the average person in Barcelona, and I am pale like a piece of paper. I was confused, but then I came across a site by the name of beyonddna.net. Let me tell you, the site was a bit on the pricey side, but it was worth it. The company specializes in interpreting dna results. They use a combination of history, geography, and genetic information when they tell you about your background. My test came back with results from Sweden, Scotland, Estonia, Ukraine, and the Basque segment of Spain. However, the test did not seem to pick off anything from Barcelona. BeyondDna gave me a detailed breakdown of the diasporic history of Barcelona, used geographical location and used genetic information to tell me how the results did make sense in my original dna tribes report. Long story short, it looks like although I am culturally Spanish from Barcelona, I am genetically a combo of North West European, Eastern European, and Basque. One other thing I like about this company is the fact that they personally write to you, instead of just giving common knowledge to everyone who comes from a particular area. .
