I think this is a particularly beautiful example of the style applied to a church: St. Andrew's of Prairieville, Alabama (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Andrew%27s_Episcopal_Church_%28Prairieville,_A labama%29)...

Thank you Eldritch for introducing this style of architecture to me.:)
I have in the past encountered the term Gingerbread in reference to the scroll work applied to the fascia and trimmings found within this style.

Here are some examples of the style that I found exceptional.

As a carpenter I would not enjoy working on one of these steeply pitched roofs.
I have to wonder how many men must of died doing so!

I've seen pictures of that last house (the one with the very striking pink and purple :D) before. Unfortunately it looks like the garden/plot around it is not spooky enough, however. ;)

Any idea where that house is, who built it, when .. ??

This appears to be the side of the home!:D

The front of the home is much more impressive with its wonderful garden.

How appropriate that according to Google maps, this house is located right next to something called Woodstock Hill Cemetery. ;)
