View Full Version : Karakachani - ancient thracians all over again

To start - the Karakachani are greek speaking population of Bulgaria. They were nomads until the communist build them a village and settled them with forse in one of our towns. They are not bulgarian by any means, but they are not greek either. They live only BELOW the balkan line and are known as illiterate and backward sheperds.

I watched a TV show where they presented themselves as the ancient hellenics, not as thracians :D

No they are Karakachani, write каракачани in google and see. Its from a news article about them
