Izmir is ruled by the social-democratic and Kemalist/secularist CHP (Republican People's Party), which is also known as one of its strongholds. Latest election results:

In my city the social democrats (labour party) has had own majority in about 80 years :laugh: It's a very industrial city, so quite understandable.
